Samsung Galaxy S Rumored to Get Pro Label, Adds a Physical QWERTY Keyboard
Samsung Galaxy S Rumored to Get Pro Label, Adds a Physical QWERTY Keyboard
What’s better than a crazy, obvious-looking mock-up of a phone? A radical, completely unfounded rumor to go along with it, of course! That’s exactly what we have here, with this image of the supposed Samsung Galaxy S Pro floating around. Sure, it may look cool, and yeah, we’d love to have another option to bring to the 4-inch screen Android camp, but . . . Well, perhaps we’ll just say that it may be too good to be true. It doesn’t help that the rumor is based on what someone has ‘heard,’ with nothing else to go on.

So, what’s the Pro version of the Galaxy S getting that makes it so ‘Pro?’ The full, slide-out QWERTY keyboard. And, that’s it. It still has the smartphone market’s fastest 1GHz processor, the 4-inch Super AMOLED display, and Android 2.1, but other than the physical keyboard, it’s the same device. We know that for the lot of you, a physical keyboard can be the whole reason you buy, or don’t buy a device, so maybe that’s exactly what Samsung is thinking with the Pro version of the Galaxy S. Of course, we can’t stress enough that this is just a rumor, and that’s definitely not an official image from Samsung.
The truth is, we’re going to bet that Samsung will put a lot of effort into selling the Galaxy S. With that being said, having two models, with the same name for the most part, doesn’t seem like the best idea. Especially not when you’re trying to sell that processor, and Super AMOLED screen. Having it in the Samsung Wave should be just fine for now. However, if Samsung comes out of the dark and announces this thing, we’ll jump all over it. It’s got a physical keyboard!
