Oh, hi Blackberry Appworld!
Let’s start off with the really big BB news: you can grab the official BB App Store from the Appworld website if you’re in Canada, the US, or the UK (other countries coming soon!). Apps can be paid or free, and they hope to have around 1000 apps on the store within a week. You’re good to go as long as you’ve got a trackball or touchscreen Crackberry (oops, it slipped!) with OS version 4.2 or higher.
Appworld already has offerings from Iambic, AOL, Pandora, and Microsoft, so it’s looking like a pretty broad featured launch. There are features like categories, top downloads, and recommendations right off the bat. I’m really liking this friend of app stores on mobile devices – wait, let me correct that. I’m really enjoying this trend of good looking app stores for mobiles. Ooo, dark blue!
