KIN Event a Flop
What good is a party without people? Back in the days of Windows 3.1, people actually had parties for such events and people flocked to actually see the latest in Microsoft technology. Now, with millions of on marketing we see the KIN in Movement 2010 Electronic Music Festival in Detroit, USA to be well…almost a ghost town according to MS Mobiles. The KIN phones which Microsoft is pushing is a closed to development allowing no 3rd party apps. WHAT?! Yes, you heard that right…no apps. What is wrong with you Microsoft? When you open up a platform for development, you not only create a spark which people will grab on to, but they will actually build your market for you. Look at Apple, they have how many apps? People even pay Apple to develop free apps with that $100 a year developer’s fee – which is no chump change. Let’s look also at features – people are lining up with around 77% of the market being people who want to upgrade their phones to the iPhone 4 with 90% citing the main reason to be for the new features (ZDNet). Apple listens to people and the people go crazy to buy. Simple rules of customer service and development – give the people what they want, support them well, and they’ll be your customers for life.
